Not too much happening, at least on my side. Aside from a few thefts and break ins, I haven't been up to much. Nothing big like what I pulled off with Boota a while back. Still experimenting with the object that we stole, no magical properties found yet, and it doesn't appear to have any adverse effects like the pistol did. I suppose it's either just keeping its secrets hidden, or it's just plain valuable junk.

Well, operation: Freedom Tiara succeeded with barely a hitch. I managed to convince the muti named Boota to help me, since I needed a way to sneak into the building without being spotted, and all the ground roots were covered by guards. So, we decided that our cover story would be that we're seeing a play down in Valburg, near the area we needed to get the goods from. We even stopped by the tavern real quick to make sure that other people heard our story about what we were doing, although some of them like Phil were rightly suspicious of us. Oh well...

Next step was sneaking in. This is the part where we almost were caught. When Boota was flying me over one of the guards, he looked up to stretch his neck or something, and saw us. His face immediately went bright bright red, tough. Note for myself for next time Boota's flying me anywhere: Wear something besides a dress or a skirt. Wasn't hard to guess why that happened, but it worked out to our advantage this time. I wonder if that guard had a girlfriend that he decided to bug last night...

Getting the actual goods was a lot easier than I thought. No one expected a chuian-sized being to be able to fly in without magic, like I was counting on. It looks like the owner relied more on their anti magic alarms and guards outside, so that they didn't post any guards inside. In fact, we were able to get in and out of there so fast that we managed to get into the very play we were using as a alibi. Boota's such a gentleman in that respect. He offered to pay for my ticket (using some of the gold we stole, but it's the thought that counts), guided me to my seat, and was one of the nicest men that I've ever met. Good thing I'll be seeing a lot more of him in the future, even if we're going our seperate ways for now.

Someone new in the tavern showed up today. Very intimidating fellow, as he was extremely tall, muscular beyond what I've seen even on amphs, plus had armor all down his back that looked like it was actually natural instead of made. What's more, he was fast with his wrists. I say wrists because that's what he actually hit with. His hand appeared to be just a claw. He also had a very, very strange face. Long mouth, with a tongue that he used almost like a tentacle. Turns out he's a nice fellow, though. Called himself Drago. Alex, the human that I'm keeping some tabs on because of that amulet of hers, seemed terrified of him, too. Even Phil, of all people, know not to try to pick a fight with him. Other than him, it was a pretty uneventful night.

07:26 pm - New owner

You know, after stealing this book from shorty, I wondered at first why someone would keep something like this. After giving it some thought, I decided that it's actually a really good idea, hence why I'm writing in it. Right now, though, the only thing worth writing about is the janitor. Can't believe he's actually one of the rare black nikitaks. What's more, is that he actually turned down two thousand gold that was offered for him to put on a show for the ladies. Granted, a hundred of that was my own gold, but still... two thousand gold just for putting on a quick dance? I would of taken it. Oh well... I suppose I'll have to trick him into doing it somehow.

Today has got to be one of the WORST days in my life... It started when I woke up, and it wasn't in the bed that I went to sleep in. It was a bed made of clouds, and there also seemed to be puffballs like those I saw in Ew Ork sleeping in it. When I started looking around, I noticed that I wasn't even in a room, but rather an extremely large cardboard box that had kid like drawings on the inside of it. A noise to my left made me look there, and as soon as I did so I wished I hadn't.
Jakrian, a person I've heard about, but never really met in person was lying in the bed next to me! Half naked! And as if that wasn't bad enough, he started to speak to me too. He said "Morning! You know, your fluffyness made last night one of the best nights of my life," as if it was a completely casual thing. Naturally, I did what any sane person would do in this situation, which was scream loudly and high tail it outta there as fast as possible. I even left all my stuff behind except for this journal, the sword I got from the girl, and my gold. Luckily, nikitaks are seen all the time without any clothes, so it wasn't as bad for me as it would have been for any other race... Anyways, I'm currently hiding from Jakrian in this cave that has a whole bunch of gila monsters in it. Hopefully, he won't find me.

Grr... Finally made it to the town, but my supplies were running low. I started venturing in search of the food shop when guess what? One of the inhuman teens snatched the little gold I brought with me. He looked kinda thin, and at the time I thought probably desperate for food. However, when I tried to get it back from him, he tossed the bag over to one of his friends. They kept tossing my gold between each other for two hours. TWO FRICKEN HOURS! And, to add to that, the only reason they stopped was because I got completely fed up with it and started knocking them out. They'll be waking up with major headaches, for sure. Anyways, it was too late to find the food store now, so I decided to head over to the Tumbleweed, which was the local inn. Now, just about everyone knows about their infamous milkshakes, so I opted for their iced tea instead. I also got myself a room. Not the nicest place that I stayed at, but it's also not the worst either... And I'm feeling unnaturally drowsy right now, so I guess I'll go lay down and try to sleep.

Made it to the mesa top, and managed to do a fair bit of traveling while up there. Damn, I never realized how hot it got in some places. Anyways, it appears that the feeling that I was being followed was just paranoia, even though I'm still feeling it. No matter how many times I look back, there's nothing there that appears to be following me. It's just all dust-devils and striders. Anyways, going to be arriving at the town that's supposed to be near here tomorrow, so I'm gonna wrap this up.

11:07 pm

I've reached the point where you climb up to the mesa top. The funny thing is, though, I've had a feeling that I'm being watched ever since I left through the south gate. I hope that it's either someone I know, or just paranoia. Anyways, it should be easy to spot if I'm being followed up on the mesa top, as there's virtually no place to hide up there. Oh, and the mechanical wings that I had were busted up to the point where the blacksmith couldn't do anything with them, so I chucked them and bought a few fly scrolls instead. They aren't quite as good, but like my Uncle used to say, any cave in a blizzard.

06:18 pm

Well, it's been an uneventful couple of days, but they're finally letting me leave Ew Ork. I'm busy making some last minute preparations, because the mesa top is supposed to be a dry, dry place, so I doubt I'll be able to find much water up there. It's kinda hard, though, to pack everything into the bag that I've been using, so I might have to buy another. Anyways... I think the shops are opening now, so I guess this is where I stop writing.

Jul. 20th, 2007

08:39 pm

Well, when I said I'd be stuck in Ew Ork for a couple of days, I didn't think I meant literally! The healers here told me that I wouldn't be able to leave until I healed fully, and even told the gate guards not to let me out. So, I'm stuck wandering around the streets of Ew Ork for a bit.
While wandering around, I a young gith girl playing around with some flowers that managed to grow in the filthy environment. She looked kinda sad, and mumbled something about an orchid. Now, I know a bit about herbs and stuff, and I picked an orchid earlier because it has some medical uses, if I remembered correctly. Anyways, I gave it to her, and to my surprise, she gave me a sword for it. Now, I know I needed a weapon for when I set out again, but this sword is FAR better of a weapon than anything I could of bought. I guess one good turn really does bring another.
Also, a bit later I meet Jemli in the tavern. I didn't ask her what she was doing there, but I could imagine. Anyways, I gave her a letter to bring to Phil, plus the location of one of the gold bags that I didn't give to Tobi for safe-keeping to give to him. I'm not too confident that all the money, if any of it, is going to reach him, though. Anyways, it's kinda late now, and the healers are nagging me to sleep, so I guess this is where I'll stop for the day.

Jul. 19th, 2007

10:06 pm

Finally made it to Ew Ork after a day of waiting and a day of traveling... I could barely move because the infection was getting so bad. The gates were closed, but the guards saw what condition I was in and opened them and brought me to the healers. Anyways, they're doing the best they can, but I still need rest according to them, so it looks like I'll be stuck in Ew Ork for the next couple of days.

08:08 pm

Ungh. Body feels like it's burning all over. I used the few medical supplies that I had, but it still wasn't enough. I was starting to head in the direction of Ew Ork, but it started to rain. Normally, this wouldn't stop me, but shortly after I realized that the rain was starting to eat away at my fur and skin.
I took shelter in the little cover that I could find, which was a strange metal ship that looked wrecked. Luckily, I didn't have to stay in that rain too long, so the damage from it isn't too bad. I think the cuts that I got from the pirates is starting to get infected, but there's nothing I can do about it until this rain stops. I'm starting to feel a little light headed right now, so this is where I'll call it a day.

03:09 pm

Had a bit of a run in with some pirates in crateria. They're the ones that look like crabs. Anyways, here's what happened.
I was venturing through the caves trying to find an exit that preferably didn't drop down or lead back to Brinstar. After a while, I noticed that the tunnel was lighting up further down, which meant that I was nearing the surface. Before I got there, however, I was surrounded by a group of 10 of the pirates. They started gibbering to me in languages I didn't understand. Eventually, they tried speaking common to me, and asked if I knew where someone named Samus Aran was. Hell if I know, but they didn't seem to want to accept no as an answer.
Next thing I know, they're trying to kill me! I bashed through them and tried to take cover by some rocks, but I got pretty cut up in the process. I'm really starting to think that going out with only a small knife and some clothes was a bad idea. Anyways, they started showering the rocks that I was hiding behind with some weird magical energy blasts from their claws, so I decided to book it out of the cave as fast as I could. I'm somewhere out in the open now, but I don't really know where I am. Anyways, the sun's going down and my lantern was broken, so I guess I'm going to have to finish this up.

Jul. 13th, 2007

01:18 pm

Had a bit of a disaster this morning. I woke up to find that a geemer chewed on something in the wings, and now they aren't working. I looked at the damage, but it's not anything I understand enough to fix. Looked like the little colorful things going back and forth were cut.
Anyways, because of this, I had to climb the rest of the way up the shaft. Toughest climb I've ever done in my life. It was only about 50 meters, but it took me the better part of the day in order to do it. Currently resting at the top with every muscle in my body screaming at me in pain. I'm going to stop writing now, since even moving my hand to write this is leaving me in agony.

04:58 pm - on the way to brinstar

Today, I left the chuian tree and began hiking toward ice mountain. I thought it better to save my traveller's rations for when I really needed them. Because of that, I killed a strider and striped as much meat as I could off of it. All I can say is, strider steak is surprisingly tasty. I also nibbled on some wild wheatgrasses that I found, but those didn't taste as good.
When I got to the ice mountain, I took the path to Brinstar like I'd already planned. This time, though, instead of just dashing past like I always did before, I actually took the time look at the things which lived there. The geemers were pretty cool, having one of the best climbing abilities that I've ever seen. The skrees, however... don't really understand them. They just seem to live to die. Anyways, as I reached the end of the part of the shaft, I slipped into the mechanical wings that I'd gotten and started traveling to the top of the shaft. Took a break in a small tunnel that was located on the east of it, which is where I'm writing this right now. Will write more later, but for now, time for rest.

01:23 pm - The journey begins

Well, it's been a tough last few days, but I can honestly say that its been worth it. I'm leaving the fortune that I recovered from my brother and that annoying cypher in the Chuian bank with Tobi. He's a nice guy, but he was giving me a bit of a funny look because of my eye. I probably should have waited for the healers to finish with it, but alas, I was a bit impatient to start this journey. I'm using this as an chance to see the world as I haven't seen it before, maybe to find my true calling in life. Seeing as it's getting late, though, I'm going to wrap this journal up. I have to make sure my mechanical wings are working for tomorrow.
